Well for the past few weeks, I’ve been running an RSS feeder for posts, as you can see they are not the greatest of posts, and they aren’t really interesting either. No real meat or information in them at all. In fact, they are more like just little teasers or ads for someone else’s products. Now most of these products are RAP Bank products and I beginning to fathom something out. Rapid Action Profits is a great script, we do use it on some of our sites. And it is so good that we are moving all of our Paydotcom products over to the raps system. Why?

Well because Rapid Action Profits allows affiliates to be paid directly into their paypal account. It takes payments through paypal and that’s it, once you have purchashed the script there is nothing else to pay with regards to processing fees other than payal fees for processing the payments.

Paydotcom on the other hand charges you a fee on top of the paypal transaction fee, so essentially you are paying two lots of fees for the privilege of using their affiliate program………. Yikes, it becomes really expensive a $27 transaction is soon eaten away at. Let’s look at the true costs of Paydotcom

A $27 sale – paypal fee which is $1.35 (net after fee = $25.65)
A $27 sales – paydotcom fee which is $3.00 but remember, we’ve already paid the $1.35 in our paypal account so this is another $3 cost on top. So the real value now becomes $27 – $1.35 – $3.00 (new net after fees = $22.65)
Taking this one step furhter, let’s say this is an affiliate sale and it’s payment is 50% commission.
Paydotcom calculates it thus $27-3 = $24 / 2 = $12 to the affiliate.
It’s real value as you can see from the above calculations is $22.65 / 2 = $11.325
So every time you pay your affiliate their $12 commission you are loosing out to the tune of $0.675 – think about it.
On top of this there is another cost and that is the mass pay fee at paypal to pay your affiliates their $12 you have to pay paypal again to process that. Another expense out of your already greatly reduced $27

Let’s say that on average you make 10 sales a month for the $27 in a year that’s going to be 127 sales at $3.00 to Paydotcom so you’ve just handed over $381 dollars for nothing more than a glorified Affiliate system and being able to list your product in their marketplace. WOW talk about throwing money away!

With Rapid Action Profits you still use paypal to process the payments so that $27 is still only going to be worth $25.65 but hey, try getting a merchant account of your own. Rapid Action Profits has it’s own inbuilt affiliate system too, how much does it charge you to use it Nothing, Zilch, NADA. The script once purchased for the small sum of $197 is yours to use no further fees to pay. No Mass Payments to make either, so there is more money to be saved there. The script works out who sent the visitor over to make the sale. Using the 50% model, the first payment goes to the vendor and the 2nd payment (the whole of the purchase price) goes directly into the affiliates paypal account. They have the paypal fee deducted but they will net the whole of the $25.65 on a $27 transaction. This means the affiliate receives the equivalent of $12.825 per sale rather than the $12 using paydotcom. Happy Affiliates make more sales!

But what about the market place listing isn’t that worth paying for, well, short answer NO.
